Baudelaire’s «Le Voyage» and its translation by Tsvetaeva:
a comparative analysis

The present article analyses the problem whether Tsvetaeva’s translation of Baudelaire’s poem «Le Voyage» can be considered as having independant importance. The analysis is carried out in the context of comparison of life stories of both poets and of the role these poems played in their creative work. Unlike the former researchers the author comes to the conclusion that the deeply personal Tsvetaeva’s interpretation of Baudelaire’s poem allows to consider her work as a kind of transposition, as a re-incarnation of the French original. The author of the article founded her analysis on the texts due to the poets themselves: the poem and its Russian translated version, Baudelaire’s diaries and Tsvetaeva’s letters.



РЕЗЮМЕ

Данная статья анализирует вопрос о самостоятельном значении цветаевского перевода поэмы Ш.Бодлера «Le Voyage» в контексте сопоставления судеб обоих поэтов и места этих поэтических произведений в их творчестве. В отличие от предыдущих исследователей, автор статьи приходит к выводу о том, что глубоко личное прочтение М.Цветаевой бодлеровской поэмы позволяют рассматривать «Плавание» как переложение, своего рода перевоплощение французского оригинала. В работе над данной статьей были использованы только тексты самих поэтов, сама поэма и ее перевод, дневники Ш.Бодлера и письма М.Цветаевой.
